Colorado Springs - In response to the escalating events and the outbreak of a war between Russia and Ukraine at the end of February 2022 Lead Stories today announces the launch of Russian and Ukrainian versions of its award-winning fact checking website leadstories.com
The new sites are located at russian.leadstories.com and ukrainian.leadstories.com and are staffed by veteran journalists fluent in both languages. They will follow the same methodology already in use on our English-language website and will honor our commitments as signatories of the IFCN Code of Principles.
Lead Stories already partnered with Meta and ByteDance to fight disinformation on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok and the new staffers will assist in that effort.
In addition to the new sites today we are also adding a new category to our main navigation named "War" that will group all fact checks regarding the conflict.
